| Q |
Is it too late for businesses to be part of Rediscover Ashland 2006? |
| A |
Not at all! Ashland businesses and organizations are invited to participate in these ways:
- Be part of the summer-long Treasure Hunt, making your treasures and promotional materials available at your place of business and/or at any Tuesday summer concert.
- Set up a table at any summer concert for FREE. Just show up.
- Publicize your summer activities and specials on this Web site for FREE! E-mail your contact information and wording to Publicity@AshlandBusinessAssociation.com.
- Donate one or more items to the Treasure Hunt prize drawings. Your business name will be announced any time one of your items is awarded at a summer concert or at the Grand Prize drawing on Ashland Day. Call Nadine Heaps for details at 508-881-6680.

What
is Rediscover Ashland 2006? |
| A |
The ABA's
annual sidewalk sale has been transformed into Rediscover
Ashland, which last year included a one-day "Treasure
Hunt." In our second year of this annual event, Rediscover
Ashland provides more opportunity for residents, businesses,
town government, and others to "rediscover" all
that Ashland has to offer. There will be various events throughout
Ashland. This year the kickoff day was Saturday, June 10. |
| Q |
What's
different this year? |
| A |
In
addition
to a kickoff day on Saturday, June 10, the ABA will facilitate
a Treasure Hunt throughout the summer. This will give the public
more time to visit the many businesses in Ashland and to pick
up "treasures" from them. Prizes for the Treasure
Hunt will be awarded at each of Ashland's free summer concerts,
and the Grand Prize will be awarded on Saturday, September
16, as part of Ashland Day. By overlapping with the concerts
and Ashland Day, publicity for Rediscover Ashland will benefit
these events as well. See Calendar of Events. |
| Q |
What
is the purpose of this event? |
| A |
Rediscover
Ashland is a great way for residents to familiarize themselves
with all of the wonderful products and services we have to offer,
right here in town. This fun-filled event for the entire family
is also an excellent way for Ashland businesses and organizations
to reach out to their community. |
| Q |
Was there a chili contest this year? |
| A |
MatKat Creations, Inc., sponsored the 3rd annual Chili Cook-off, hosted at the American Legion on June 10. These restaurants competed: Catch 22, H&D General Store, Stone’s Public House, Sunnyside Café, and TJ's Spirits. With 55 percent of the vote, H&D General Store was the clear victor, and will proudly display a plaque presented to them by the sponsor. Proceeds totaling $174 were donated to the Ashland Emergency Fund. |
| Q |
What
do you mean by "throughout the summer"? |
| A |
Unless otherwise indicated in the Participants Listing, "throughout the summer" means starting on the June 10 kickoff, and continuing until the finale on Ashland Day, September 16. |
| Q |
Where can I get an Events Booklet and more information on the Treasure Hunt? |
| A |
Pick up a free copy of the Events Booklet at Town Hall on Main Street; or at the Ashland Public Library or Sunnyside Café on Front Street, downtown Ashland. It contains a Calendar of Events, the official Treasure Hunt Rules, Treasure Map, and Treasure Hunt Log, as well as other helpful information. |
| Q |
Where can I find the treasures in the Treasure Hunt? |
| A |
Unless otherwise indicated in the Participants Listing, treasures for the Treasure Hunt will be at the participant's place of business, during regular business hours. Some businesses will also have treasures and stickers available at Ashland's free summer concerts. To be eligible for prizes at the summer concerts, you need to collect 4 different treasures from each of the 6 areas (at least 24 treasures). To be eligible for the Grand Prize, you need 3 more from each area (42 total treasures). Download Treasure Hunt Rules. |
| Q |
Where do I turn in my completed Treasure Hunt Log to win prizes? |
| A |
Bring your completed Treasure Hunt Log to 15 Alden Street no later than noon on the day of any concert to be entered in that evening's concert drawing. Or bring it to the ABA table at any concert to be eligible for drawings at the NEXT concert, and any remaining drawings for which you qualify. |
